Happy Tuesday!

Unfortunately, this semester my schedule changed so on Wednesdays and Thursdays I miss out on seeing some of my puppy pals while I am off studying. Today is a very happy day because I have the pleasure of seeing Hogarth who is usually only around on Wednesdays! For the lucky few who know Hogarth personally, I'm sure you can understand how exciting this is for me! So "Happy Tuesday" everyone - I hope your day is as wonderful as mine!

Mr. January...

 Each month we will be rewarding one of our faithful canine companions with cookies and love for earning our "Dog of the Month" award. Our January 2010 recipient is Norquay, our resident gentleman!  It is his excellent behaviour and good manners that earns him this very prestigious award.  Norquay is a true mentor for the rest of our crew. It is a pleasure to have him join us everyday. Congratulations Norquay!!

Who's That Girl?

While snapping photos of our furry friends the other day, I came across two canines who remained in the limelight the entire "shoot". Coco with her wide-eyed "natural" look, and Cleo with a little more "fierceness" than what we have come to expect. They worked well together- complimenting each other's strengths and showcasing different attitudes. Although they were versatile, they both brought in a little bit of their personality, resulting in the perfect spread. With their natural photogenic abilities, it is lucky that I discovered them when I did. Who knows if I'll ever get the chance to work with such professionals after this exposure!

In this business, the most valuable tip I could ever receive is that the way to a dog's heart-is through their stomach. Here is a perfect demonstration of how true that statement is. When they hear the cookie jar being cracked open, they stop whatever they are doing, and run to join the others for their afternoon snack. So a word to the wise when winning over a dog, be sure to pack lots of treats and you will have them eating out of the palm of your hand-literally!

If you have ever wondered about the security of Dog Pawsitive, this picture should answer any questions you may have had. Here you can see Russell, Coco, Parker, Layla, Liam, Bunny, and Sally keeping a close watch on the daycare while the rest of the gang secures the downstairs area. With these guys as our gatekeepers, it's no wonder that Dog Pawsitive remains so exclusive.

A Little Someone, to Brighten up Your Day

Although all of our dogs puts a smile on my face, I have yet to meet a funnier canine then my good friend Buddy. Whether he is running into me at full pace, giving kisses to the rest of his furry friends, or clumsily knocking over a garbage can during our morning walk together, I can garauntee he is making me laugh...and he knows it. I first noticed his natural comedy streak when he would practically turn himself inside out with excitement whenever anyone paid attention to him. Later he would lie down when he didn't feel like walking anymore at the park and most recently, he has been cracking me up by unexpectedly nudging me when all the other dogs are crowding around. So if you're ever feeling down, or just looking for a break, think about Buddy-I know I will!
